How to leave your family

How do you say goodbye to your family? How do you say goodbye when the people you're saying goodbye to are abusive? How do you leave those you love without them hating you for doing so? I know my family doesn't like that I left them. They probably hate me for leaving,

Saying goodbye to family members, especially when the relationship has been strained or abusive, can be an incredibly challenging and emotionally complex process. In situations where there is a history of abuse or negativity, it is important to prioritize your own well-being and safety above all else. It is crucial to remember that you have the right to remove yourself from toxic environments and relationships, even if it means creating distance from family members.

When bidding farewell to family members who have been abusive, it may be beneficial to seek support from a therapist or counselor to help navigate the emotional turmoil that often accompanies such situations. Setting boundaries and clearly communicating your reasons for leaving can help create a sense of closure for both parties, even if it is not well-received by all family members. It is essential to prioritize your own mental and emotional health during this process, even if it means facing resentment or disapproval from those you care about.

While it is natural to feel guilty or conflicted about leaving family members who may be unhappy with your decision, it is important to remember that your well-being and safety should always come first. By prioritizing self-care and seeking support from trusted individuals, you can navigate the process of saying goodbye to family members with compassion and resilience. Remember that it is okay to prioritize your own happiness and peace of mind, even if it means creating distance from those who may not understand or support your decision to leave.
